Today marked 1100 miles on my run to the Pacific. Out of nowhere a mini-mountain appeared. Once I got going up the incline, and saw that the edge was buffered by trees, I was fine. The scenery was beautiful. I love running on flat roads, but the hills are a nice change of pace sometimes.
Leaving Jacksboro, I decided to stop to get my final drink of the run. Nothing else available for the next 13 miles. As it turned out, I stopped at another small restaurant that was to open the next day. The owner allowed me to come in and gave me a cup of Sprite. He said I was his first customer. He invited me back for tomorrow’s grand opening– HAMBURGERS 1/2 PRICE.
I thanked him, congratulated him, wished him well and continued on my way. If you’re in Jacksboro tomorrow, check out “Casa Lopez– Mexican Buffet”. I saw some fine pickled eggs also. Very nice guy.
Enjoy the pics
